The ECPV-375-B Electronically Controlled Pinch Valve is a computer-controlled pinch valve which directly accepts a 4-20 mA or 1-5 VDC control signal. The ECPV accurately controls the flow of high-purity fluids, slurries, and other liquids and gases in pharmaceutical and biotechnology environments.
Customer-supplied tubing is inserted through the valve and connected to the process. The stainless steel rounded pinch element moves in 0.001 inch increments to precisely squeeze the tubing for accurate, proportional control.
High resolution produces outstanding process control. This is achieved by using a 8-bit analog-to-digital converter to process the control signal. A digital filter removes noise from the signal. The microprocessor converts the control signal to a valve position and directs the 200 step per revolution DC step motor to rotate a threaded stem. The pinch element moves up and down on the threaded stem to proportionally pinch the tube.
The ECPV has no backlash and no hysteresis. This greatly simplifies control programs. The valve is opened and closed by a zero-backlash screw mechanism. The step motor is directly connected to the valve without gears. The valve can also be operated manually.
Each valve comes complete with actuator and valve, mounting bracket, and instructions. Power supply, control signal and tubing are not included.The reliable, low-maintenance design and heavy-duty construction reduce costly downtime.
